Boating Practice - This oil painting captures a memory of play between myself and a childhood summertime friend. His parents provided an old flat-bottomed scow with a vintage outboard engine that supported our imaginary play. The original is in the collection of this friend. His father was an artist who encouraged my artistic development as a child and he taught me to paint in oils when I was twelve years old.
