Maiden Voyage – This image is from an 8”x 10” oil painting completed on 3/8/24. This image captures the 9/8/23 launch of Antique Boat Museum’s new sailing skiff, crafted onsite through the Builder in Residence Program. The ABM’s Master Boatwright and the visiting Boat Builder are onboard. With permission of the local Mohawk Nation, the skiff was named “Kaniatarowanenneh”, the Iroquois word meaning “Big Waterway”. The painting was accepted into the 2024 juried art show “Along the River’s Edge” at the Thousand Islands Arts Center in Clayton, NY, and is subject to judging and eligible for a number of prizes in late August.
